Melbourne, the “World’s Most Livable City,” according to the morning radio. It was our home for four weeks. I spent a large amount of time (haha) in the emergency department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital--even did CPR “very vigorously” on a guy for ½ an hour, but he didn’t make it despite all the “adrenalin.” Pon jumping in just to make sure all his ribs were cracked. Melbourne was awesome. We took in a Cricket (boring) game as well as several footie (great) games. Toured the Cartlon Beer Factory and left very drunk. Spent many nights with Jessica at the botanical gardens watching outdoor movies (was this the best part of the whole trip? Could be). There are probably better ways to spend your fourth year of medical school, but lounging on the beach in Australia is up there. Pictured below you’ll find Nacho from Madrid, Valerie from Canada, Orlin from Detroit, Jesse from Duke, Emma from England, Julia from Germany.
