Sydney

We flew from Melbourne to Sydney for the first leg of our 2 week Australian tour. It was, of course, a beautiful city. Older than Melbourne, pretty in a different way. Our plan was to see “The Magic Flute” at the Sydney Opera House. So we paid our money, got all dressed up and stood in line outside. One hour goes by, then two. Finally they announce the show is cancelled—stand in line to get your money back. They cited “technical difficulties.” One plane ticket around the world: $1200. Tickets to a matinee at the Syndey Opera House: $120. Dinner before hand at McDonalds: $4.50. Getting stood up by drunken actors: Priceless.
